After researching the conventional construction industry’s significant contribution to global carbon emissions in 2021, Kulubya took a different path, focusing on sustainable forestry and environmental science. He combines this knowledge with real estate expertise to address challenges in the built environment.
For the past three years, Kulubya has worked with eco-friendly construction companies to provide low-cost, low-carbon homes. He is a strong advocate for timber homes, recognizing that these structures not only provide shelter but also promote sustainable forestry. This passion stems from months spent understanding the East African sustainable forestry sector and its potential to supply raw materials for construction.
In 2024, Kulubya was selected as a Young Expert under the Young Expert Programs, an initiative that supports young professionals in international development. He has also gained valuable experience and skills through accelerator programs like the Business for the Green Impact accelerator and the Open Innovation Program, which have helped establish him as a leading voice in the built environment.
